Does Tango Notify a Creator About Recording?

By Recfolder Editorial · · · 2 min read

TL;DR

We have not verified a current Tango guarantee about recording alerts or viewer visibility. Ask for permission instead of assuming capture is invisible.

What we can confirm

We have not verified a current Tango statement guaranteeing whether a broadcaster receives a recording alert. We also have not established that every app version, operating system and capture method behaves alike. A lack of an alert during one test would describe that test, not future behavior across Tango.

If an alert matters to your use, check the current app help or ask Tango support about your device and capture method. Do not treat this guide as a guarantee that a creator cannot detect a recording.

Recording alerts and viewer visibility are different

An alert about screen capture would be one possible signal. A viewer list, account activity and a saved file are different signals. We have not verified that off-device recording removes those signals or makes a viewer anonymous.

Using a Telegram recorder changes where a file is captured and delivered. It does not establish anonymity or permission. The service processes requests and files; keep that separate from the privacy of the chat on your own device.

Before saving a broadcast

Ask the creator for permission where needed and check Tango's broadcasting guidelines. They prohibit certain recording and distribution uses; a publicly accessible live is not blanket permission to capture or reuse it.

For a recording you are entitled to keep, compare capture methods and save the resulting file securely. For rights questions, see recording permission and platform rules. Creators can request removal from Recfolder.
